Eric Bartel
Transitional Pastor
Eric holds a B.S. in Mathematics from Northern Michigan University (1994), a Masters in Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (2007) and a Doctor of Ministry from Biola University (2021). Eric has been ordained in the EPC since 2010 and has served four churches as either pastor, stated supply pastor or transitional pastor. Eric is married to Amy, and they have three daughters and one son.

Ethan Barnett
Director of Youth Ministries
Ethan Barnett was born and raised in Lenoir. A few years of ministry at a Christian camp in East Tennessee blessed him in October 2016 with marriage to his wife Jessica. Since returning to Lenoir they have been graced with the addition of a terrier named Mel and daughters, Isabelle and Adelynn. Ethan thoroughly enjoys deep theological study and discussion, hearing the robust bickering of bible scholars, and gaming of the board and video varieties.

Kori Dyer
Co-Director of Children’s Ministries
Kori is from Kannapolis NC. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University and has worked in public education as a teacher and volunteer. She is married to Max, and they have two sons and one daughter. She has a passion for the local congregation’s role in supporting parents in making young disciples of Jesus Christ.

Jessica Barnett
Co-Director of Children’s Ministries
Jessica is from Johnson City, TN. She meet her husband, Ethan Barnett, while serving at a Christian Camp in Hampton, TN. There she found her love for investing in the Biblical teaching and spiritual growth of youth of all ages. Since moving to Lenoir she has completed her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University and worked three years in a preschool classroom. She has two daughters, Isabelle and Adelynn, to keep her on her toes.

Jim Shulstad
Choir Director
Jim is the band director at West Caldwell High School and also plays trumpet in Centerpiece Jazz. He was the chorus teacher at American Renaissance School in Statesville and has worked with other choral groups in churches and elsewhere. He is married to Reeves Shulstad, who is a professor in the Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University.
